Before we talk.
Most first conversations start with the same questions. Here are my answers, so ours can start with what you're building.
Working together
Are you looking for a full-time role or contract work?
Both. I'm open to full-time senior full-stack roles and to contract builds of a product or platform.
Can you work remotely, and on which hours?
Yes. I live in Lisbon and work remotely on European hours, or hybrid or on-site in Lisbon. Roles that need US-only hours or a move away from Lisbon aren't a fit for me.
What happens to SharpHaw if you join a company?
SharpHaw becomes a small side studio with a few clients, run mostly on SharpOS, the platform I built for it. The job gets my full working hours. If your company doesn't allow any side business, raise it in our first conversation so we settle it early.
What do you charge?
I don't publish rates. I share salary expectations or a contract rate in our first conversation, once I know the role or the scope.
What contract work do you take?
Apps and platforms built end to end on TypeScript, Next.js, Convex and Expo, including the AI features inside them. I don't take on WordPress or Laravel maintenance.
The work
What have you built end to end?
SharpOS, the platform my studio runs on. It gives each client a private workspace where people and AI agents use the same operations. Since March 2026 I've built it as its only engineer, directing coding agents: web, macOS and iOS apps on one Convex backend, live at sharphaw.digital.
What did you do at Mollie?
I joined as the main engineer on the mollie.com website revamp, working with marketing, design, business and engineering to build and launch it. Then I moved to Mollie's Support area as an engineer, building AI into its chat, email and voice channels. My title was Software Engineer; before Mollie I held senior titles at XP Inc., Art2act and LovelyStay. The work is under NDA, so I describe the scope and not the numbers.
Do you use AI in your work?
Yes, in how I build and in what I ship. I build SharpOS by directing coding agents, and AI agents work in it through the same 220 operations people use, over its REST API and MCP server. At Mollie, my work after the revamp was AI for the support channels.
How do you check code that AI agents write?
Tests first. In SharpOS the rule is to write the failing test before the code, and the repository holds 2,236 test files. 16 CI jobs run behind one required gate.
What's your stack?
TypeScript throughout: React and Next.js on the web, Node and Convex on the server, React Native with Expo on mobile, Electron on desktop, and Tailwind with shadcn/ui for interfaces.
Background
How much experience do you have?
12+ years. I've been building for the web since 2014; my first role on the record is an internship at Agência Trii in Rio de Janeiro in 2015. Every role, with its exact title and dates, is on my About page.
Why did you change jobs twice in 2022?
2022 was the year I moved from Brazil to Portugal. I spent three months at Art2act and seven at LovelyStay, then joined Mollie and stayed nearly three years.
What did you study?
A BSc in Computer Science at Universidade Veiga de Almeida, then postgraduate studies in Digital Technologies for Management at ISEG, Lisbon School of Economics & Management.
Which languages do you speak?
Portuguese, my native language, and English at full professional level.
Can I get your CV?
Yes. My CV (opens in a new tab) is a single page on this site, ready to print or save as a PDF.
Small businesses
Can you build a website for my business?
My studio can. SharpHaw (opens in a new tab) runs websites, ads, content and automations for small businesses across Europe.
Didn't find your question?
